The wilder blue were a supplement to the New Braunfels rockabilly scene of the early 1960s. The band was formed in 1960 byuffer known as john mayall, and began playing together before long. The first few clubs they played at was, of course, the local joe's that would often offer free admission for members of the public. The wilder blue quickly became a force, and quickly won the title of New Braunfels rockabilly champion.
